We took this on a weekend hike, and it stood up on its own even on uneven ground, which made filling it with water one-handed a breeze. The zippered top keeps it flat and tidy in my pack when it’s empty, and it’s so light I barely notice it’s there.
The zipper closure is a nice touch — I just toss it in my backpack and it flattens out completely, no bulk. We used it on a rocky trail and the self-supporting sides didn't buckle once, even when my pup slurped at it aggressively.
This thing held its shape perfectly on the trail and then folded flat into my backpack, so I hardly noticed it was there. The zipper makes it super easy to clean and store, which is a huge win for a messy drinker.
